S-SBR is a copolymer of styrene and 1,3-butadiene produced through a solution polymerization process in hydrocarbon solvents. S-SBR is one of the main raw materials used in the production of high-performance tires, especially those requiring low rolling resistance, excellent wet grip, and high durability typically used in the high-performance automotive sector.
LOW VINYL SOLUTION STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER (BUNA® SL)
A low vinyl content results in a lower glass transition temperature (Tg), providing high flexibility, superior abrasion resistance, and low rolling resistance. BUNA® SL is commonly used in tire manufacturing and technical rubber products made through extrusion processes.
SOLUTION STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER BLOCK POLYMER (BUNA® BL)
contains a block styrene structure, making it ideal for producing rubber products that require higher strength and hardness without compromising abrasion resistance.
SOLUTION VINYL STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER (BUNA® VSL)
has a modified molecular microstructure with a higher vinyl content, which increases Tg to enhance traction and wet grip while maintaining flexibility and low rolling resistance. This makes BUNA® VSL especially suitable for premium tire formulations and other high-performance rubber applications.
FUNCTIONALIZED SOLUTION VINYL STYRENE-BUTADIENE RUBBER (BUNA® FX)
BUNA® FX is a high-performance grade of Solution-Styrene Butadiene Rubber (S-SBR) that has been chemically functionalized with polar end-groups to improve silica filler interaction. This significantly enhances wet grip performance and overall tire handling efficiency.
